I have a BFA in illustration with a minor in western art history, graduated 2015. Since then I've been making art for fun (and occasionally also profit). I've had awesome opportunities to camp out in wilderness areas and backpack through thousands of years of cave houses, cliff houses, ruins of cities, religious places, and monuments (both natural and manmade). The ruins and stories of built environments and the abstract suggestions of natural places are a huge source of inspiration for me.
I like making things. I also like figuring out ways to make things that help me make things. Over the past few years I've put together an affordable intaglio printmaking setup that's allowed me to start exploring some of the cool things possible with printmaking. At some point I'll add more info about that!
Opus mixtum is a term used to refer to my favorite kind of ancient masonry. It just means "mixed work", because it's characterized by mixing different patterns & types of masonry together.
